Green unveils alternative budget proposal

COUNCILMAN GREEN OFFERS ALTERNATIVES TO ADMINISTRATION’S PROPOSED BUDGET
Alternatives Include More than Doubling the Proposed Spending Cuts and Reducing Proposed Tax/Fee Increases by $100M

PHILADELPHIA, PA – City Councilman-At-Large Bill Green released his alternative proposals for solving the City’s fiscal crisis, which more than double the spending reductions proposed by the Administration, while reducing the proposed tax and fee increase by over $100 million.

“The voices of Philadelphia citizens are loud, clear, and should not be ignored. Before we reach into their pockets looking for additional revenue, we need to show them that we’ve done everything possible to reduce the cost of government,” said Councilman Green. “The budget presented to City Council by the Administration fails this fundamental test.”
